Sunset in the dying city

Ever imagined living in a town with a population that varies from about 7 to 12 people? A town that when you step out of your house you probably know the name of all your neighbours, and that you are conscious of the fact that they may decide to leave the next day just like the others have done in the past?

A town, where the number of cats is ten fold the number of human beings?

I have a friend, an interesting friend indeed. Top guy in the corporate world, very smart, smart in a way that at times when he speaks, you can mistake him for being arrogant.

Out of curiosity, seeing how he has become such a ‘Nairobi Man’, I decided to find out when he first came to the city.

He said boasting,

Located just an hour away from Rome, on the winding roads of Bomarzo, you find a gem that roots back to the 1500’s designed by Prince Vicino Orsini and the great architect Pirro Ligorio.

Prince Vicino felt trapped in the life of routine, sameness and monotony of perfection around him. Everything seemed perfect and carefully calculated that he was  driven by an urge to create something that let the mind to wander freely, to imagine and to create images of what one sees.

Have you ever realized that your taste in fashion changes over time?

That at times, when you look at your throw backs, you wonder what the hell was wrong with you!

I remember  times in university when I was all about colour and you could clearly see me from a kilometre away:-)  That has changed a great deal. I still put on colours -after all colour looks great on our skin- just not more than two primary colours at a go.
