Do you always remember your first?
Heya, oh well, this is the first blog post on peachesonblue.com
I thought it would be easy. That it would have been in line with my usual routine of getting home, fixing a quick bite, then folding my legs on the couch with the laptop well rested on my laps and then voila!
But, as it turned out, before settling down to write this, I went through lots of head scratching on where and how to start.
Now that am here, and you are here with me, how you doing?
I hope you have grabbed a cuppa of tea or coffee. You can consider this our first date:-)
As you may have read on About Me section, I am very excited about peachesonblue.com
I have wanted to do this for the longest time possible and working behind the scenes day after day to see this come to life gives me so much joy.
Being far away from home, everything is a first for me. The people, the food, the language, the culture, every other thing that you can possibly imagine is a first.
As a social animal , I yearn to know more people. I desire to interact with them and get to learn from them. Through peachesonblue, my first wish is that we will be able to talk more and exchange experiences. That we will be able to laugh together, cry together in some instances and even get wowed and shake our heads in disbelief when Donald Trump wins in November, but above all, that you will share the love, appreciation and friendship that PeachesonBlue brings to you.
So,as we begin on this journey together, I choose to answer ten random questions about me.
Here we go,
- Do you have an African name?
Well yes,my African name is Aluoch.
My people tend to name new borns according to occurrences or time of the day. My name therefore freely translates to a baby girl born on a misty day. You may notice that this was the inspiration behind having Misty Life category on the blog.
2.When was the last time you cried? I don’t normally cry that much. Probably a month or two ago. Rynair denied my boarding and I was heading for vacation. I literally broke down and sat on the floor. I hope you don’t think am too sensitive:-)
3.If you were another person, would you be a friend of yourself? Most definitely -yeah! But I’d be careful to wait a few hours after taking a nap to talk to me. I am so moody after naps. I can’t even deal with myself:-)
4.What did you study in school? Uh….lots of things. I am an English major. I have teensy knowledge of French, Chinese and a vast knowledge in Italian. I also hold a Master’s degree in International Business Management coated with a few executive professional courses. In high school, my favorite subject was History. I literally mastered every single sentence in those books:-)
5.Will you ever bungee-jump? Oh yes! Although I will be literally peeing on my pants. I think it will help me comprehend the unimaginable. In the meantime, I will be practicing in amusement parks where I’ll have my heart in my mouth and scream like a scared child looking for mommy.
6.What’s your favorite cereal? Weetabix. Anyday anytime!
7.What’s the first thing you notice about people? This has changed over time, for now, eyes are very important to me, I believe in eye contact and a firm handshake. But in general I am very lenient on first impression and tend to look at a person as a whole despite all the other small things that may be missing.
8.Summer or winter? Ok, can we be honest ? I first saw snow three years ago:-) I was born and raised living and breathing sun all year long, coupled with some few rainy months. So my favourite climate has to be the tropical climate. However, winter is a bit more appealing to me since it is a new phenomenon!
9.Do you have any special talents? I think I’m quite good with languages. I also play hockey and am very good at it. I can also basically recycle everything, am in love with bottles and containers, so I can create lots of things from them.
10.What do you want to be when you grow up? Oh well, I think am grown up already. But as I continue to be the woman I want to be, I want to be excellent and succesful in both my professional and personal lives.
I think that’s the end of it for now, as we continue with this, I will answer more of your questions along the way.
I tag anyone who hasn’t done this and who wants to do it. You can try and leave some comments below 🙂
